Panasonic SF4D-H12 is a compact and robust hand-protection intrinsically safe / safety light curtain sensor designed for a variety of safety applications. It features an interference prevention function, external device monitoring with an 8-core or 12-core cable, an interlock function with manual or auto reset, an override function exclusive to the 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of aluminum, while the sensing surface combines polycarbonate resin with stainless steel SUS304, and the upper and lower caps are constructed from nylon. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and offers a degree of protection rated at IP67. The protective height of the sensor is 230 mm, and it includes 2 x digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, along with 1 x digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and extends up to 15m or 49.213 feet in the same mode. The current consumption for the emitter is rated at 100mA or 0.1 A. This sensor utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 25mm or 0.984 inches.
