Panasonic SF4D-H12-01 is a sensor array designed for compact and robust hand-protection with intrinsic safety features, achieving safety levels of PL e / SIL3. It incorporates a light curtain sensor with an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability using an 8-core or 12-core cable, an interlock function with manual or auto reset options, and an override function exclusive to the 12-core cable configuration. The housing is made of aluminium, while the sensing surface combines polycarbonate resin with stainless steel SUS304, and the upper and lower caps are constructed from nylon. This sensor is pre-equipped with a connector for ease of connection. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and is rated with a degree of protection of IP67. The net height, indicating the protective height, is 230 mm. It features 2 x digital outputs for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector at 24Vdc with a current range of 60-200mA, and an additional digital output, also selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector at 24Vdc, but with a 100mA current. The sensing distance spans from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and can extend from 80cm to 15m, or 2.625 to 49.213 feet in the same mode. The emitter's current consumption is 100mA or 0.1 A. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 25mm or 0.984 inches.
