Panasonic SF4C-F55 is a sensor array designed for finger-protection and intrinsically safe applications, meeting safety Category 4 / PL e / SIL3 standards. It features a light curtain sensor with external device monitoring, ELCA function for reduced mutual interference, interlock function with manual or auto reset, an override function utilizing a 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and the sensing surface is a polycarbonate alloy. This sensor has a length of 5m and comes pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable terminated with bare end flying leads. It offers a degree of protection rated at IP65 and has a net height of 560 mm for the protective height. The SF4C-F55 includes 2 x digital outputs for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2 and 1 x digital output, all selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc, with the safety outputs supporting 60-200mA and the additional output supporting 100mA. It can sense objects within a distance of 0.1m-3m and detect object sizes as small as 14mm. The light color is infrared (IR) with a wavelength of 855 nm, and it has a response time of 90ms for ON and 9ms for OFF.
