Panasonic SF4B-A12CA-J05 is a sensor array designed for arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, categorized under safety Category 4 / PL e / SIL3. It includes a light curtain sensor with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reduced mutual interference, interlock function with manual/auto reset, override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and it connects via a pre-wired 0.5m / 50cm 12-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable ending in an M12 connector. It offers a degree of protection rated at IP65. The net height for protective coverage is 503.4 mm. It features 2 x digital outputs for safety (OSSD1+OSSD2) and 1 x digital output, all selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA for safety outputs and 100mA for the additional output. The sensing distance ranges from 0.3m to 7m, with current consumption at 60mA for the emitter and 70mA for the receiver. The light emitted is in the infrared spectrum, with a wavelength of 850 nm, and it can detect objects as small as 45mm. It includes output short-circuit protection and has a response time of 80ms to 90ms for ON and 14ms for OFF.
